The Perry Public Library’s Team Bookworm, a representative to the Relay for Life of Northern Dallas County, hosted a Create for Life scrapbooking event Saturday and raised funds for the American Cancer Society.
About 30 handicrafters participated, bringing their unfinished scrapbooks, crafts, sewing or needlework projects to the day-long event at the McCreary Community Building. People with Pinterest projects, holidays gifts or cards or bazaar items were also welcome.
The $40 registration fee included lunch and supper, plus door prizes, make-and-take projects, a swap table, vendors and more. There was even be a massage therapist offering chair massages for $1 a minute.
Team Bookworm’s Create for Life event gave donors a chance to put in a full day of work on craft projects while also supporting the goals of the Relay for Life of Northern Dallas County and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
