LAST MEETING — The teams have not met since 2005, and it is considered likely this could be the first football game between the Bluejays and Cadets.
ABOUT THE BLUEJAYS — Perry’s problems in staggering to six consecutive losses can be seen in an almost non-existent offensive attack. The Jays are 53 of 58 Class 3A teams in points scored, are 57th of 58 in total rushing yards (574) and are last in total offensive yards (1,066). Perry has been outscored 230-20 in district play.
Alexis Garrido is 28-63-4 for 284 yards and a TD through the air, with Adan Medina 24-49-2 for 207 yards and two scores.
Reece Dunlap (18-178, 1 TD), Brandon Kenyon (10-88, 1 TD) and Janier Puente (12-77, 1 TD) are the lead receivers.
Medina (88-236, 2 TDs), Donald Chavez (44-147) and Mark Campos (35-118, 1 TD) led the ground game.
Campos has 48.5 tackles, including eight for a loss of yards, with Puente making 41 stops, which includes seven sacks while Dunlap and Medina have 39.5 denials apiece for a unit that has made six interceptions and fallen on eight fumbles.
ABOUT THE CADETS — Iowa Falls-Alden has been less than spectacular offensively as well, and has scored just 69 points in district play while surrendering 203.
Ben Scadden is 48-122-7 for 579 yards and two scores through the air, with Tyjon Rose (20-260, 1 TD) and Devin Sheridan (9-88, 1 TD) the main targets.
Logan Ward has scored nine times and gained 733 yards on 129 carries to lead the Cadets ground attack, with Michael Kent tallying three TDs on 33 carries for 129 yards.
The defense has five fumble recoveries and five interceptions, with Ben Steinfeldt (76.5) and Kent (54.5) the leading tacklers.
