October 24, 2016

  • Douglas Bonjour of Perry was issued a citation for failure to obey a stop or yield sign.
  • A caller reported “white specks on her vehicle” that could not be removed at the car wash. The caller said she believed the specks were “possibly spray foam from the work being done on the antique store at Second and Warford.” An officer responded and said “at this time the incident is a civil matter.”
  • A caller said her dog was missing. The caller later called and said her dog was found.
  • A caller said “her 12-year-old daughter had escaped through the bedroom window.” An officer responded and found the girl in school.
  • A caller from a local bank made “a report of a fraud case from an account holder.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “she and her son” were “being harassed” by means of “text messages.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported a dog running at large. “Officers were busy at the time with priority calls.”
  • A caller said “her vehicle was taken without her permission” by “her boyfriend.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “a possible break in taking place at her residence.” The caller said her sister, who was at the residence, “could hear someone trying to break in from the back door.” Officers responded and found “everything was well.”
  • A caller said a motorist was “yelling ‘F*** Trump!'” The caller said “someone else in the neighborhood has a Trump sign up, and she is also going to put one up.” The caller said “if the vehicle comes by again, she is going to take pictures of it in case something happens to her Trump sign.” An officer responded but did not find the yelling motorist. “All seemed well” to the responding officer.
  • A caller said “he was being harassed by his ex-wife and her fiance.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large “that appeared to be hurt. It was limping.” An officer responded but did not find the limping dog.
  • A caller said someone “was threatening to kill herself.” The caller said someone “had broken a light bulb and made threats of cutting herself.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said “her neighbor has dogs that keep barking.” An officer responded and tried to make contact with the owner of the barking dogs.” The officer “knocked on the door and got no answer, which made the dogs bark more.”

October 25, 2016

  • A caller said “a big brown dog” “tried to attack his coworkers several times.” The caller said “just yesterday they had to spray the dog, and it went away.” An officer responded but did not find the big brown dog.
  • A caller reported “open burning.” An officer responded, “and the subject put it out.” The nuisance burner “had the wrong dates for burning and was corrected.”
  • A caller said “his sons were currently fighting and punched one another.” Officers responded and arrested a 16-year-old male from Perry on charges of serious assault and simple assault.

October 26, 2016

  • While patrolling, an officer of the Perry Police Department “heard a rooster crow.” The officer told the owner of the rooster about the city ordinance prohibiting roosters within the city limits. The officer “advised her how to go about getting a permit for her chickens.”
  • A caller from the Perry Elementary School asked whether the Perry Police Department School Resource Officer was available “to safely escort a student to in-school suspension.” The School Resource Officer responded and escorted the fifth grader.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order to “speak with an officer about a tenant moving out, leaving unpaid rent and a vehicle filled with trash on the property.” An officer responded.
  • Diamond Martinez, 1822 Fourth St., Perry, was issued a citation for first-offense dog at large.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the animal.
  • A caller reported “a vehicle that looks like it’s been broken into.” An officer responded.
  • The Boone County Sheriff’s office called and said a “deputy at the Perry Golf and Country Club has an open door at the business.” The Boone County Sheriff’s office “requested a Perry car respond for backup.” An officer responded.

October 27, 2016

  • A caller said he and his wife “had gotten into a domestic problem this morning.” The caller said “that his wife threw him down on the bed and hit him.” He said “his wife got mad because he did not want to take out the trash, and she proceeded to push him.” An officer responded and started an investigation.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation,and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
