Perry netters earn on-court and classroom honors

Recognition for athletic and academic success were recently awarded to several Perry volleyball players, and to the team as a whole.

Junior middle/outside hitter Jo Diw was named to the Raccoon River Conference All-Conference First Team, with junior libero player Syd Guerra named to the All-RRC Honorable Mention squad.

Diw was seventh in the conference with 244 kills, and her 2.84 kills per set clip was fourth-best in the league. Guerra came up with an RRC fifth-best 310 digs, and her 3.6 digs per set was sixth-best in the conference.

Adriana Eastman, Grace Marburger, Isabel Saemisch, Adrian Thompson, Sid Vancil, Gabby West and Maddie West were all named to the RRC All-Academic team. Requirements include a GPA of 3.25-4, earning a letter and being in grade 10-12.

The Perry squad also received an IGHSAU Distinguished Academic Team Award for posting a cumulative GPA of 3.25-4.0.
