OGDEN — A sudden cold snap from the floor by Woodward-Granger coincided with a quick flashing of a hot shooting hand from Ogden, allowing the host Bulldogs to escape with a 59-49 win in boys West Central Conference play Tuesday.

W-G (3-4, 1-4) trailed for most of the game, facing deficits of 15-10 an 27-24 after each of the first two quarters. The Hawks managed to move into a 34-33 lead entering the fourth quarter and had the game tied with three minutes to play when everything turned in favor of the Bulldogs.

Ogden (2-5, 2-3) took advantage of four consecutive empty possessions from the Hawks, which included several missed layups. The hosts cashed in with a pair of 3-pointers, then sank free throws down the stretch to pull away for the win.

The hosts blistered the nets at the free throw line, sinking 17-of-20, while the Hawks managed to hit just 9-of-20 at the line.

Nathan Kennedy led Ogden with 22 points, with Ben Heeren producing a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Marcus McConahay had 21 points and six boards for W-G, with Reese Jamison collecting a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds while also making three steals.

Brady Aunspach had seven points and three assists, with Matt Buch and Broady Easter each scoring three points while Cameron Hoyt and Bryce Achenbach added two points apiece. Achenbach helped the Hawk cause with seven steals and six assists.

W-G returns to action Friday with a trip to Madrid, with a visit to Panorama Tuesday capping the pre-holiday portion of their schedule.
