Coffee, Donuts and Cover Crops to explore agronomy of nutrients

ADEL — ISU Extension in Dallas County will host an agronomy workshop –Coffee, Donuts and Cover Crops — Friday, Jan. 27 from 9:30-11 a.m. at their office in Adel.

Mark Johnson, an extension field agronomist, will lead the informal session, using the first part of the meeting to discuss the research, benefits and challenges of planting cover crops, a proven method of soil conservation and nutrient reduction.

Johnson will spend the remaining time answering questions from farmers and listening to their experiences related to crop production.

“This is an informal time to sit down and chat before planting begins,” said Johnson. “I look forward to seeing familiar faces from our first ag coffee and new ones as well.”
