  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a “cell phone that was smashed.” An officer responded and “took it into evidence.”
  • A caller said she “was walking her dogs and heard someone yelling for help.” The caller said she found a man who was “on the ground in his apartment and couldn’t get up.” An officer responded, and Dallas County EMS was paged.
  • A caller said she “received two calls from someone wanting to verify their pin for Paypal.” The caller said she “thought it was odd and that it should be reported.”
  • A caller said a house he owns has been vacant for three weeks, but “today when he went back to the house he found a dog inside the residence.” The caller said he “was not sure how to proceed.” An officer responded and “advised him of his options.”
  • A caller said someone “just drove by his residence and revved the engine of his green pickup, which scared his son.” An officer responded.
  • Eduardo Melena-Cortes of 41 326th Lane in Perry was issued citations for failure to obey a yield sign and no insurance-accident related.
  • A caller said “she is part of a group on Facebook called Cafe Moms.” The caller “said the group was contacted by” someone who claimed “her 3-year-old child had died, and she was not able to pay for the funeral.” The caller “said the group later found out the story wasn’t true.” The caller said the person who allegedly told the untrue story then began “making comments about harming herself.” Officers responded and made contact with the person who allegedly told the untrue story. She said “she was okay, and she was just emotional with some stuff going on in her life.” She said “she had been home with her husband all day. She was given a Mobile Crisis pamphlet if she ever needed someone to talk to.”
  • A caller said “the people from Cafe Moms hacked into her account and are contacting her friends and family and telling lies about her.” An officer responded and made “the same suggestion as earlier to delete her profile and stay off social media.”
