- Shane Kenneth Laird, 35, 936 Rose Ave., Des Moines, was arrested on a Perry warrant on an original charge of OWI-drug related.
- A caller “requested an officer respond to his residence so that” someone “will pick up her property.” An officer responded.
- A caller from Home Care Services said “they deliver meals for” someone who “did not get his yesterday or today.” The caller said Home Care Services “tried calling him but no answer.” The caller asked whether an officer of the Perry Police Department would check on the welfare of the man without meals. An officer responded and found no one home. The officer made contact with neighbors who said “they usually have two cars in the driveway,” but “there is only one.” The neighbors said they “thought they mentioned they would be taking a trip to Chicago.” The officer informed Home Care Services.
- A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and “located the dog. It is a dog that had been running loose for many years and has not been caught. It has a harness on, which its body has got too large for.” The Humane Society of Perry was notified.
- A caller said she bought a car from a local car dealer “that had defects.” The caller said “the owner was made aware of these problems and was supposed to fix them, but he didn’t.” The caller said “they got into an regarding this issue, and the owner kicked” someone “out of his office.” The caller said she “tried to intervene, and the owner then shoved her. She made him aware that he had shoved her, but he denied it.” The caller said “she just wanted to have a report on file of the incident in case any other issues arise.” An officer responded and “advised them that the car issue was a civil matter.”
- A caller said she lent her vehicle to someone, and “he hasn’t returned it and was seen speeding away.” The caller said the vehicle “was taken from her Boone residence.” An officer responded and advised the caller “to call the Boone County Sheriff’s office is she wanted to file a stolen-vehicle report.”
