The IGHSAU has released the final set of post season brackets, with teams learning the particulars of their hoped-for routes to playoff glory.
Perry will host a semifinal in Class 4A Region 2. The Jayettes await the winner of the Feb. 15 meeting between Carroll and host Denison-Schleswig, who will visit Perry Feb. 28. The other side of the bracket has Storm Lake visiting Webster City, with that winner to play host and second-ranked Nevada in the semifinals. The winners meet, at the highest remaining seed, Feb. 21.
Nevada has moved up from Class 3A this year. They were the 3A state champions in 2015, with Pocahontas Area avenging their championship loss to the Cubs with a win over Nevada in the 2016 title game.
Both No. 8 Panorama and Woodward-Granger have been assigned to Region 4 in Class 2A.
Panorama will host the winner of the Feb, 11 meeting between Eagle Grove and host Fort Dodge St. Edmond in a quarterfinal contest Feb. 14. Interstate-35 awaits the winner of the first round game between Ogden and host WCV. The semifinal will be at Panorama Feb. 17.
The top half of the bracket features South Hamilton visiting W-G Feb. 11 with the winner to visit host and ninth-ranked Van Meter Feb. 14. Earlham is at Madrid, with the victor at Des Moines Christian, in the other side of the bracket, with Van Meter hosting the Feb. 17 semifinal. The Region 4 Final will be played Feb. 20 at Waukee.
