BONDURANT — The host Bluejays outscored the visiting Bluejays, 37-25, in the second half Friday as Bondurant-Farrar claimed a 65-51 win over Perry in Raccoon River Conference play.

Perry was a 66-56 victor in the Jan. 13 meeting between two of the only three schools in Iowa using the Bluejays as a team name. They did so by dominating the second half, but in the rematch found the tables turned.

Janier Puente, as he did in the first meeting, finished with 22 points for Perry. Kyle Nevitt added 14 and Brandon Kenyon three, but Rashon Ivory was held to eight points and Connor Nielsen to four, after the duo had poured in 20 and 14, respectively, in the initial contest.

Tanner Bedier had 16 points, Bobby Wright 14 and Seth Moeller and John Carlson 12 each for B-F. The remaining 12 points were scattered among five players.

Perry (10-8, 7-6) held a 14-12 lead after one frame and led, 26-20, with two minutes to play in the half, only to see B-F (8-12, 4-10) finish the second quarter on an 8-0 run for a two-point lead at the intermission.

The hosts widened their lead to 46-38 at the end of three stanzas, then outscored their guests 19-13 down the stretch to pull away for the victory.

Perry attempted just six free throws, making four, while B-F drained 18-of-22 at the line, the exact point differential in the game.

Perry hosts Carroll at 1 p.m. today in an RRC coed set rescheduled from Jan. 20. The Bluejays will then host Greene County for a boys-only set Tuesday to conclude their regular season.
