Starting Monday, May 1, the intersection of 16th Street at North Street will be closed to through traffic for one week.
Corell Construction Inc., the contractor for the North Street construction project, will place traffic-control signs to warn residents of the road closure.
The intersection will be closed for seven days to allow for paving operations.
The city encourages local traffic to use the 18th Street detour in order to avoid congestion around the construction area. Southbound local traffic will be able to access North Street to the west.
All drivers and pedestrians should exercise caution in the work area until the intersection is reopened.
