A trio of St. Patrick School students — Hannah Sucher, Diego Cardenas-Diaz and Isaiah Christensen — earned piano awards this year and were recognized for their achievements in an April 25 ceremony at the school.
Sucher received her award for having mastered the ability to play technically correct staccato.
Cardenas-Diaz earned his award for his ability to memorize all his repertoire pieces.
Accurately counting and keeping a steady rhythm are Christensen’s special skill.
The music classes are taught by Jeanne Hill, who works with 19 students after school hours in the St. Pat’s music room.
“We give special thanks to Mrs. Hill for her devotion increasing appreciation for the arts,” said St. Pat’s Principal Eddie Diaz, who said next year’s class will have three openings.
