Monday’s quarterly meeting of the 100+ People for Perry donors club found two-thirds of the nominal 100 gathered to support one of Perry’s leading non-profit institutions, the annual Art on the Prairie festival.
The 67 local residents and community supporters in 100+ People first heard three members each pitch a project, and the membership as a whole then voted for one, with the 7-year-old Art on the Prairie event chosen to receive donations totaling $6,700.
The mission of 100+ People for Perry “is to invest in Perry’s future through supporting current charities/non-profits/worthy projects which advance the quality of life,” according to the group’s statement.
Since its formation in 2016, the group has contributed $40,400 to six local projects. New members are always welcome. Contact Mark Powell at 515-465-4641 or mpowell@fdplawfirm.com, Tom Lipovac at Tom.Lipovac@perry.k12.ia.us or Linda Kaufman at kaufmanlinda1948@gmail.com.
