  • A caller said “someone attempted to break into her vehicle.” The caller said “she did hear something last night but was too afraid to look.” The dispatcher “advised her she should be calling when it is happening.” An officer responded and found “there was no damage to the vehicle and nothing taken from the vehicle.”
  • A caller said “he caught an opossum” in a trap, and he “believes it has rabies.” The caller said “he wasn’t sure what to do about it.” An officer responded, “picked up the trap with the confused opossum and released it at the river.”
  • An apartment manager called and said he “placed a 24-hour notice to enter” on a unit “after receiving numerous complaints of tenants partying in the middle of the week late night and being loud.”
  • A caller said her son’s bicycle was stolen. An officer responded.
  • A caller said she “noticed a couple of boys about 11-12 years old running barefoot.” The caller said she “thought it was odd and wanted to report it.” An officer responded but did not find the barefoot boys.
  • A caller from a local retail store said “the store started getting odd phone calls” from a man who “would scream at whoever answered the phone.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “for the past couple of days people have been coming and knocking on her door. There are three people there now that have been knocking for 30 minutes. She knows who they are, and she does not want them there.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “damage done to a bolt and fence.” An officer responded.
  • A caller “requested a welfare check on his brother.” The caller said “he’s been trying to contact him for hours” and receives “no answer.” An officer responded and made contact with the brother, who said he would call the caller.
  • A 911 call was received. The caller said “he was trying to call a number with a 9 and 1 in it and accidentally called 911.” An officer responded and “confirmed all okay.”
  • A caller said “he is in front of his ex-wife’s residence” in order “to pick up their chuild for visitation.” The caller said “his ex-wife sent him a text message saying he couldn’t have the child.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a pourse she found. The owner of the item “was contacted and retrieved her property from the police department.”
  • A caller said “he built a fence on his property a few years back with the city’s permission.” The caller said “now his neighbor is saying he has proof that the fence is on his property.” An officer responded and made contact “with both parties and advised them both to contact the building inspector during normal business hours.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and transported the dog to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller said the “neighbors three houses down are being extremely loud on their front porch.” An officer responded, “and it was all quiet upon arrival.”

  • A caller said “there are a couple of cats that are loose by the place where the cats are kept.” An officer responded but did not find any loose cats.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
