Bulldogs steal WCAC win from host Panther netters

PANORA — Ogden rallied from an 0-2 hole to make off with a 3-2 win over host Panorama in WCAC volleyball Tuesday.

The Panthers (2-6, 0-3) had seized control of the match with wins of 25-19 and 26-24 in the first two sets. The Bulldogs (4-5, 2-0) rallied for wins of 25-18 and 25-19 to force a fifth set, then posted an 18-16 win to break Panther hearts.

Kennedy Kuta distributed 24 assists for Panorama, with Oliva Richey posting 10 digs. Hannah Woodworth had six digs, Nicole Rolfes four and both Morgan Johnk and Erica Block three, with Carson Fisher making three blocks, Rolfes three and Kuta one.

Johnk led the offense with 11 kills, with Rolfes adding eight, Hope Wilderman four and Fisher and Halterman three apiece.

Block served 21-of-22 with an ace, with Kuta 17-of-20 with an ace. Rolfes was 14-15-2, with Woodworth 15-of-15, Wilderman 14-of-14 and Johnk 11-of-11.

Panorama will join Carlisle, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Earlham and Ogden at the Perry Invitational today (Sept. 7). Play begins at 4:30 p.m. The Panthers will then take an extended leave from action and not return to the court until hosting West Central Valley Sept. 19.
