Sad news was recently received by the communities of Bondurant and Farrar and the students in the B-F schools with the death of 12-year-old Ava Hutchinson, who had been battling brain cancer.

The Lady Jays were in Perry for a Raccoon River Conference volleyball match Tuesday, with the Jayettes expressing their condolences by presenting the team with a bouquet of flowers, balloons and a note prior to the start of the varsity contest.

The note read, “Bondurant Community, Our deepest sympathy goes out to all of you. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. The Perry Jayettes.”

The show of concern struck a positive chord with the B-F players, coaches and fans, who were clearly touched by the expression of compassion.
