Daylight Saving Time will end in Iowa and across most of the United States at 2 a.m. Sunday.

The public is reminded to set their clocks back one hour, thus gaining an extra hour of sleep in exchange for an hour of sunlight.

Those for whom the hours of darkness are less favorable will have to wait until March 11, 2018, when Daylight Savings Time resumes.

It is also recommended that the public replace the batteries in any smoke or carbon monoxide detectors in their homes, thus increasing the safety factor for their families.
