Overseas Iowa Army National Guard troops celebrate ISU win

Troops with the Iowa National Guard stationed in the Mideast will see Iowa State University beat the University of Memphis 21-20 in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl Saturday in Memphis, Tenn., tonight on American Forces Network.

Soldiers from 248th Aviation Support Battalion of the Iowa Army National Guard proudly displayed Iowa State Cyclone flags while deployed in Middle East in honor of ISU’s bowl game.

The ISU fans will watch the AutoZone Liberty Bowl live at 8:30 p.m. Saturday night on American Forces Network.

The Iowa State Cyclones beat the Memphis Tigers 21-20 in Memphis Saturday.

“Go, Cyclones” said Mike Kelley of Perry, six-year commander of the American Legion Post 85, “and all the best wishes to those who stand guard over our freedom!”
