- James Pelletiere of Boone was traveling south in the 27000 block of N Avenue when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,500.
- Alexander Lycke of Kalona, Iowa, was traveling north in the 15000 block of Iowa Highway 141 when he hit his brakes, causing him to slide into the outside lane and sideswipe a vehicle driven by Trevor McCarthy of Grimes. No injuries were reported. Damage to Lycke’s vehicle was estimated at $1,200, and damage to McCarthy’s vehicle was estimated at $1,400. Lycke was issued a citation for improper use of lanes.

- David Bruce Stitt II, 45, of 793 Collins Dr., Waukee, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while license under suspension.
- Carrie Neuhaus of Dexter was traveling west near the 105 mile marker of U.S. Interstate 80 when her vehicle left the roadway and went down an embankment. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,000.
December 31, 2017
- Amoria Sriviboon of Ankeny was traveling west on Iowa Highway 141 when she attempted to exit the highway and lost control of her vehicle, which struck a light pole and then entered the ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10,000. Sriviboon was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.
- Marco Cruz of Des Moines was traveling south in the 32000 block of N Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle, which slid sideways and struck a vehicle traveling north on N Avenue and driven by Lisa Stark of Adel. No injuries were reported. Damage to Stark’s vehicle estimated at $12,000. and damage to Cruz’ vehicle was estimated at $12,000. Cruz was issued a citation for failure to maintain control and no driver’s license.
January 1, 2018
- Lamont Lartroy Flowers, 21, of 3206 Amherst St., Des Moines, was arrested in the 32000 block of U.S. Highway 169 for OWI and driving while license suspended.
