BONDURANT — The first Raccoon River Conference win of the season will have to wait for the Perry girls, as Bondurant-Farrar scored late in regulation and then pulled away for a 40-36 win in overtime Friday.

Perry (2-12, 0-7) trailed, 7-6, after the first quarter but moved into a 16-13 lead at the halftime break. The Jayettes maintained their lead for the next eight minutes, entering the fourth quarter holding a 26-22 advantage.

The guests held a 34-31 lead with less than a minute to play in regulation when Riley Gilroy — who was just 5-of-30 on 3-pointers entering the game — coolly buried a deep triple to knot the score as the B-F (5-7, 2-5) crowd went wild.

Perry had possession with just over 10 seconds to play but missed an unnecessarily hurried shot, but then survived what might have been disaster when B-F promptly threw the ball away with a few ticks remaining, leading to an additional four minutes of basketball.

Avery Fried scored for a 36-34 B-F lead, then scored again when the hosts grabbed two offensive rebounds, and then snatched a rebound when the hosts missed two foul shots.

Molly Lutmer hit two foul shots to bring Perry to within 38-36, but Lexi Bedier — 1-of-3 for the season at the foul line — splashed two free throws to seal the victory.

Fried had 12 points, Gilroy seven and Bedier and Kaylee Seitzer five apiece for the Lady Jays. Taylor Berggren and Katie Fogarty had four points apiece, with Addie Ehlers tallying three points.

Lutmer had 14 for Perry, with Grace Stewart adding 11 and Alyssa Kruger six on a pair of second-half 3-pointers. Ainsley Marburger drained a trey for three points, with two points from Isabel Saemisch wrapping the Perry scoring list.

Perry was 11-of-16 at the foul line in the loss, with B-F sinking just 5-of-12.

There are no games for either Perry team Tuesday, with both returning to action Friday with a trip to Carlisle. Perry is at Carroll Jan. 23 before hosting ADM Jan. 26.
