  • Officers assisted EMS with a medical call in the 400 block of S. Olive Street.
  • Karen Murphy reported a deceased deer in the roadway in the 600 block of S. Elm Street. The animal was gone when the officer arrived in the area.
  • A caller advised of a pit bull running freely in the 900 block of W. Mahlon Street. A officer responded and located the animal in its own yard.
  • An officer stopped and spoke with a male juvenile in the 200 block of S. Vine Street after noticing the boy flip him the bird. The officer also contacted the youth’s parents and advised them of the incident.
  • An officer assisted an Iowa Department of Human Services case worker with a home visit at 806 W. Monroe St.
  • An officer assisted the Greene County EMS with a medical call in the 500 block of S. Elm Street.
  • Charlie Jarnagin spoke with an officer about ways to obtain a no-contact order.
  • An officer checked an apartment in the 500 block of E. Lincoln Way after dispatch received a 911 hang-up call from a cell phone. The apartment was empty.
  • An officer was requested to assist the jailer with two inmates who were fighting.
  • An arrest warrant was requested for Lucas Fulton Ausberger, 19, of Jefferson for first-offense possession of a controlled substance/marijuana. The charge comes after testing was completed on items taken into custody during a traffic stop Dec. 23 in the 300 block of W. Central Avenue.
  • Arrest warrants were requested for Max William Pfeffer, 29, of Omaha, Neb., for second-degree theft and eluding law enforcement. The requested warrants pertain to a Jan. 23 incident in which a vehicle fled from a Jefferson Police Department officer who attempted to stop the vehicle, which had a headlight out. The vehicle was reported stolen from Omaha. Pfeffer was also issued 18 traffic citations for violations that occurred during the chase.
