Spring means new growth, and Perry is showing signs around town of fresh developments.

On the housing side, a new structure is arising at the corner of 16th and Park streets in Perry. The property is owned by Ruben and Rosa Gonzalez of Perry, who are making the most of the city’s property tax abatement program with their new home.

Residential growth on Perry’s north side is matched by commercial expansion on its south side, with McKee Auto Center Inc. spreading south of the Iowa Highway 141 with new room for RV parking.

The newly graded and graveled parking area lies just west of the Raccoon River Valley Trail.
