A motorist seeking to be courteous to traffic merging on her right accidentally sideswiped a vehicle on her left in the westbound lanes of Iowa Highway 141 Monday afternoon about 3 p.m.
“She turned around to come back to the scene where she ran into me while she was trying to switch lanes,” said Michael Pentico of Perry, the driver of the vehicle struck by the courteous motorist, whose identity has not been released by the Dallas County Sheriff’s office.
“She was merging over for motorists coming onto 141,” Pentico said, “and I was right next to her.” The incident occurred just west of U.S. Highway 169.
After striking Pentico’s vehicle, the motorist made a U-turn on Iowa Highway 141 and returned to the scene of the incident, Pentico said. In its initial report, ThePerryNews.com mistakenly thought the incident involved a wrong-way driver on the busy four-lane state highway.
