GUTHRIE CENTER — The Panorama track teams made a short trip Thursday to compete in the Gonzalez-Parrish Invitational.

IKM-Manning edged Panorama, 156-150, for the girls team honors, with IKM-Manning (181), AC/GC (151) and Panorama (114) the top three on the boys side.

“I was pleased with our performances,” Panorama head coach Greg Thompson said. “We backed off a little to prepare for conference on Tuesday.”

The WCAC meet will be held at Ogden Tuesday, the next action for the Panthers.

The Panther girls posted wins in the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400, 4×800 and sprint medley relays. The team also received a win from Gwen Steffen, who claimed the 1500 in 5 minutes, 24.58 seconds, while Lydia Knapp won the discus with a spin of 125 feet, 5 inches.

Dan Jensen won both the shot put (45’2-3/4) and the discus (143’5-1/2) for the Panther boys, with Spencer Hunt first across the line, in 23.32, in the 200.

The Panthers also earned first-place points for wins in the 4×100 and 4×200 relays.

There were numerous additional place-winners; first-place efforts only are listed.
