DES MOINES — It was a double-dip of sorts for the Woodward-Granger track program, as both the boys and girls 4×400 relay teams competed on day two of the state track meet.

The Hawk girls were first to the track Friday, with Emma Drake, Anna Tague, Kayley Dresback and Ava Petersen finishing in 4 minutes, 13.43 seconds. W-G had qualified in 4:16.16 and, with the time drop, finished 14th overall.

Bryce Achenbach, Ian Thompson, Josh Saak and Chandler Cavanaugh were the first Hawks boys to run on the blue oval in two years, as the team was shut out last season. The quartet finished 21st in 3:34.2.

W-G senior Kaitlyn Peters will be the lone Hawk in action today. She will compete in the 1500 at 2:45 p.m.
