The Perry Fareway made an explosive donation to the Perry Chamber of Commerce Friday morning when Fareway Manager Travis Landgrebe presented a check for $2,400 to Chamber Executive Director Lynsi Pasutti, the grand total from the 2018 Fourth of July Round Up Fundraiser.
“We’re very excited,” Pasutti said. “This gets us closer to our goal for this year’s fireworks show.”
Landgrebe said he was grateful to the generous Fareway customers. He said 4,295 transactions were rounded up during the five-day fundraiser, with an average donation of 56 cents.
The top Fareway fundraiser, Cashier Karelly Marquez, took home a $50 Fareway gift card for encouraging 590 customers to round up a total of $358.48. Cashiers earning $25 gift cards were Phyllis Manternach-Barr with 687 round ups to $314.58 and Karen Davis with 504 round ups to $275.22.
Joining Landgrebe and Pasutti for the patriotic presentation were Perry Chamber of Commerce President Emily Leslie of Backwards Properties, Chamber Treasurer Eileen Splendor of the Raccoon Valley Bank, Chamber Executive Secretary Julie Scheib and Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson.
