Seven smart and savvy teams faced off Thursday evening in the Friends of the Perry Public Library’s fourth annual Trivia with Friends fundraiser at La Poste LLC in Perry, with all proceeds supporting library programs.
Eight rounds were played, with categories ranging from dog trivia to medical trivia to Charlie Brown trivia. The Perry Public Library’s Discover Space exhibition exerted a powerful gravitational pull, with the category of space trivia orbiting twice through the categories, moerated by Chris Cohea and Mary Murphy, Perry Public Library director.
Dogs have a nine-week gestation period, by the way, and variola is more commonly called small pox, and Charles M. Schultz’ nickname was Sparky. Animated character Buzz Lightyear rode the Space Shuttle in 2000, and Pluto was reclassified as a dwarf planet in 2006.
Trivialists lubricated their wits with refreshments served by Andy Stout. The aptly named Team Aye Queue carried the day. Also rans were Team Bookends, Team Fake News, Team Gangstaz, Team Oldies but Goodies, Team Somewhere between First and Last and Team Zee Bee.
The friendly competition raised $450 for library materials and programming.
