  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department received a report from someone of tall grass in violation the city ordinance.
  • Joe Graney, 58, 2406 Taft St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.
  • A caller said “he called yesterday” about “some kittens, and now the garage window was broken.” An officer responded.
  • A caller asked “to speak with an officer” about “harassment.” The caller said someone was trying “to frame him for sexual harassment against him and his sister.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “a tree just fell in her yard and was partially on the sidewalk.” Officers responded, and the Perry Public Works Department was notified.
  • A caller said a man in a vehicle “was threatening to use his gun.” Officers responded but did not find the vehicle.
  • A caller said his brother “was out of control.” Officers responded and found someone “very angry and acting out. The officers had to restrain him in order to keep him from hurting anyone and to help him calm down. After he calmed down, he was released from the handcuffs, and arrangements were made for him to stay with his aunt for the evening to allow everyone to calm down.”
  • A caller said “her daughter’s father was in the house drunk and was throwing things.” The caller said “she was currently locked in the room with her kids.” An officer responded, but the drunken father was gone.
  • Officers of the Perry Police Department stood by during a civil “property exchange.”
  • A caller reported a street light out at 16th Street and Willis Avenue. An officer responded, and Alliant Energy was notified.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “noticed someone had thrown an egg at the passenger side of his patrol vehicle.” A perpetrator was suspected.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
