An Adel man who was arrested Sunday after allegedly choking someone accrued additional charges early Monday when he allegedly disarmed an officer of the Adel Police Department.
David Alan Keifer, 63, of 708 Greene St., #1A, was arrested about 9:20 p.m. Sunday on a charge of domestic abuse assault impeding blood/air flow causing bodily injury, a Class D felony.
At about 3:15 a.m. Monday, an incident occurred that lead to Keifer being charged with disarming a peace officer, also a Class D felony, and interference with official acts, a misdemeanor.
Adel Police Department Chief Gordy Shepherd did not return calls for comment on the incident.
The 5’9″, 280-pound Keifer is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
