
WINTERSET — Perry visited Winterset Tuesday for a Raccoon River Conference volleyball match, but the outcome was decidedly in favor of the hosts, 3-0. The Huskies recorded the sweep on scores of 25-4, 25-12 and 25-19.
Winterset moved to 15-4 overall and 4-1 in RRC play, with Perry falling to 4-24 and 0-6.
Kacy Nevitt had six kills for Perry, with Gabby West added three kills and Peyton Tunink one. West finished with 1.5 blocks and Quinn Whiton an assisted block.
Whiton had five assists and Ainsley Marburger two, with Jasmine Shriver and Magley Orellana tallying one each in the loss. Orellana’s nine digs led the team, with Mackenzie Ayers and Shriver four, with Nevitt and West recording two each. Whiton, Jayna Kenney, Stephanie Garcia and Mary Ann Riesberg all provided one dig apiece.
Whiton served 6-of-6 and had the lone ace for Perry. Kenney was 7-of-7, Shriver 6-of-9, Nevitt 4-of-6 and Ayers 3-of-3. Orellana was 2-of-2, Tunink 2-of-2 and Marburger 1-of-1 behind the line.
Perry will host their annual tournament Thursday. Ballard, Des Moines Hoover, Roland-Story and Saydel will also be in action, with the first matches beginning at 4:30 p.m.
