A ghastly number of fabulously fun and frivolous events are on the schedule throughout Perry Tuesday as the community celebrates Halloween.
The annual Perry Chamber of Commerce SPOOK-tacular will give youngsters their first shot at a sugar overload. Second Street will be closed downtown from 4-6 p.m. to allow costumed creations to roam local businesses and others who will be distributing candy and goodies.
In conjunction with SPOOK-tacular, Lucinda Street will be closed for one block east of Second Street as the First Christian Church will sponsor a Trunk-or-Treat gathering.
Pumpkins can be filled from 5-6:30 p.m. at Dallas County Hospital and from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Rowley Masonic Community, where a not-so-spooky Haunted House will be open, with plenty of treats on hand.
The Perry Fire Association Haunted House of Horror, located at First and Willis, will open at 7 p.m. for their final night of the season.
Citywide Trick-or-Treating will officially begin at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. Motorists are urged to use caution while driving around the city Tuesday in late afternoon and early evening, keeping a keen eye peeled for excited youngsters in pursuit of sugary delights.
