Kevin Kanealy issues annual T-Day reminder in turkey hat

The turkey hat stands alongside the mayor's gavel and the state and national flags as the symbols of office and authority at Thanksgiving.

Perry Parks Supervisor Kevin Kanealy reminds Perry residents to put their garbage out Wednesday if their garbage is usually picked up on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

To 31-year Perry Parks Supervisor Kevin Kanealy fell the hallowed duty this year of assuming the Perry Turkey Hat in order to remind residents that residential garbage routes and recycle routes scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23 will be picked up Wednesday, Nov. 21.

“Don’t forget,” Kanealy said with municipal gravity. “Thursday and Friday’s garbage routes will be picked up on Wednesday this week. Happy Thanksgiving!”
