  • A caller said “someone wearing dark clothes and a stocking cap stole her granddaughter’s vehicle from Rippey.” Officers were advised.
  • A caller from a local bank said she found someone’s Social Security card. The owner of the card was notified.
  • A caller said “there is a raccoon in his driveway that is shaking and acting strange.” An officer responded and “took the raccoon out of the city limits.”
  • The Perry Police Department School Resource Officer was told “there were two students” who were “possibly left unattended while a parent was out of state,” and “there was a concern that there was no electricity.” An officer responded and made contact with an adult “at that residence who said everything was fine.” The officer “could tell there was heat in the home,” and the adult said “she was homeschooling her children, and all was fine.”
  • A caller said two dogs were running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dogs.
  • A caller said “she was at the corner of Second Street and Willis Avenue, and a German shepherd jumped into her car.” The caller transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • Randy Gene Stringer, 55, 1007 Dewey Ave., #12, Perry, was arrested on a charge of fifth-degree theft.
  • A caller said “her daughter’s boyfriend is at the house and doesn’t want him there.” An officer responded, and the boyfriend “left without incident.”
  • A caller said she saw some people “gathered in a suspicious manner.” Officers responded but did not find a gathering of suspicious people.
  • A caller said “the hallway smells like marijuana, and he is trying to sleep.” Officers responded and found “the whole hallway smelled like marijuana,” but the officers “could not pinpoint to any one place.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
