CARROLL — Host Carroll was a 48-35 winner over the Perry wrestlers Thursday, with Perry squashing Fort Dodge St. Edmond, 72-3, in their other dual of the evening. Carroll was a 62-4 victor over FDSE in the other bout.
The Gaels forfeited most weight classes, surrendering 48 points to Perry with eight uncontested divisions while the two opponents both left 195 pounds open. Of the five contested matches, Perry won four, with Jacob Nelson (132 pounds), Justin Stammer (152), Erick Funez (160) and Jared Narber (170) each winning by pin.
Cole Nelson was 2-0 with a technical fall at 106 for the Bluejays, with Nelson and Stammer 2-0 with two pins. Cole Snyder had a pin and a forfeit for a 2-0 mark, with Alex Fickbohm (126) and Kaleb Olejniczak (138) both 2-0 with a pair of forfeit victories.
Tanner Burgin (120), Wilbur Ramirez (145), Zach Darr (220) and Luke Holtorf (285) were all 1-1, with each winning on a forfeit, while Riece Graham (113) was unable to post a win in his two attempts.
Perry will wrestle five opponents Saturday in the Waukee Duals, with the team at Boone Dec. 20 in their final pre-holiday action.
