  • A caller from Bouton “requested assistance removing an unwanted family member.” The caller was transferred to the Dallas County Sheriff’s office.
  • Richard Allen Keller, 37, 1305 Sixth St., Perry, was arrested on a Perry Police Department warrant on a charge of first-offense domestic assault with intent to inflict serious injury.
  • A caller said a girl who “appears to be about 7 years old” was “walking alone on First Street headed north from Willis.” An officer responded and “transported the girl to the” Perry Elementary School. The officer made contact with the child’s parent. The Iowa Department of Human Services “was notified.”
  • A caller from the Iowa Department of Human Services asked to speak with an officer about “a sexual abuse case.” The officer responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department and said “it appears someone is purposely opening the breaker box and turing the lights off.” The man said “he will turn the lights back on and in the near future will add a padlock to the breaker box” because he was “concerned of possible theft.” An officer responded.
  • An officer of the Perry Police Department delivered a speech to the middle school students at St. Patrick Catholic School.
  • A caller said “someone took out a row of mailboxes.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “someone knocked on his bedroom window at 5 a.m.” The caller said “he thinks it’s” someone’s “boyfriend.” The caller was advised “to call when it happens again.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller said her dog was lost.
  • A caller said his neighbors were “playing really loud music.” An officer responded.
  • A 14-year-old male from Perry was arrested on a charge of interference with official acts.
  • A caller reported “a sick raccoon.” An officer responded, “determined the animal was sick and put the animal down.” The carcass was “disposed of” at the Perry Wastewater Treatment Facility (WTF).
  • A caller requested a welfare check on someone “who may be suicidal.” An officer responded, made contact with the person and determined “everything was okay.”
  • Francisco Geraldo Reyes of 1923 Fifth St., Perry, was issued a citation for first-offense open burning.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
