  • Sergio Hernandez-Gamez, 43, 3833 Fifth Ave., Des Moines, was arrested on a charge of no valid driver’s license.
  • A caller “reported a man on her front porch, continuously knocking on her front door.” The caller said “her boyfriend has told him to leave, but he is still there.” Officers responded but did not find the suspicious person.
  • A caller said “her sister is yelling at her mom and boyfriend” and “also throwing things around.” Officers responded.
  • A caller “reported the north door is standing open” at a residence. Officers responded and performed a “walk through,” and “all appeared to be okay.” The “door was secured.”
  •  A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. “with court paperwork regarding his son.” The man said he “needed help understanding it.” An officer responded, “looked over the paperwork and explained it to him.”
  • A caller reported seeing a “vehicle with a couple of children left in the car unattended.” An officer responded but did not find the vehicle.
  • A caller said “her dad wants her to come home by force.” An officer responded and discussed the family situation with the caller.
  • A caller “had questions about a juror summons.” An officer responded and “advised him to follow the instructions.”
  • A caller from the Des Moines Police Department said he “wanted to make officers aware that” someone “was just involved in an altercation,” and “he will be bleeding from his face and is armed with a knife.” Officers were advised.
  • A caller said she “went to take groceries to her children’s father, and a physical altercation had taken place,” during which “the male subject had pushed her and dumped beer on her.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said “he got home and realized that his TV was missing out of his living room.” The caller said he “called his family members and friends to make sure that they had not taken it.” An officer responded.
  • Edicson Manuel Arteaga Alvarado, 40, was arrested on a charge of domestic abuse assault.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
