Absentee voting for March 4 special elections starts today

ADEL, Iowa — Dallas County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Todd Halbur announced Wednesday that absentee balloting has begin for the March special elections in Waukee and the DCG Community School District.

Absentee ballots are now available in the Dallas County Auditor’s office at 210 N. 10th St. in Adel and may be cast in person during regular office hours Monday through Friday, from now until Monday, March 3.

If a voter wishes to receive an absentee ballot by mail, then he or she must request a ballot in writing. Forms are available online or at the auditor’s office. All requests for ballots to be mailed must be received by the auditor’s office by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Ballots will be mailed starting Wednesday, Feb. 12. Ballots must be returned by the close of polls on election day, Tuesday, March 4, in order to be counted.
