An Adel couple was arrested Sunday on multiple counts of child endangerment and animal neglect after a police search of their residence disclosed conditions unfit for living.
Corey Allan Robinson, 33, of 118 S. 13th St., Adel, was charged with two counts of child endangerment and two counts of animal neglect.
Angie Lynn Collins, 46, of 118 S. 13th St., Adel, was charged with two counts of child endangerment and two counts of animal neglect.
The incident began about 5 p.m. Sunday, when officers of the Adel Police Department responded to a report of animal neglect at 118 S. 13th St. in Adel and executed a search warrant at the residence.
The officers found “two juveniles inside the residence and multiple dogs” living in “conditions they believed were not suitable for either humans or animals to reside in,” according to a statement issued Monday by Adel Police Chief Wade Book.
No adults were present in the residence when police arrived, but Robinson and Collins returned while officers were still on scene and were arrested.
The children were placed with family members, and the animals were later transported to Aheinz57 pet rescue, according to Book.
Robinson is held in the Dallas County jail on a $4,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 5 in Dallas County District Court.
Collins is held in the Dallas County jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 5 in Dallas County District Court.
