An Adel man was arrested early Thursday after allegedly strangling an Adel woman in the home.
Timothy Wayne Burns, 37, of Adel was charged with domestic abuse assault-impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury.
The incident began about 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 33200 block of E. Trail Ridge Circle, where Burns allegedly “placed both of his hands around the victim’s neck” and “pushed the victim onto the couch” and “grabbed her by the arm on several occasions,” according to court records.
The Dallas County Deputy Sheriff’s who responded observed “the victim’s neck to be red in
color near the throat area,” according to court records.
Burns is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 23 in Dallas County District Court.
