An Adel man was arrested Sunday afternoon after allegedly assaulting the mother of his adult child.
Jessie Glen Adams, 41, of 407 S. 12th St., Adel, was charged with third or subsequent offense domestic abuse assault.
The incident began about 1:15 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of S. 12th Street, where officers of the Adel Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Adams allegedly “struck her on the left ear and lip with his hand,” according to court records.
The officers observed “a small cut on the victim’s lip” and “a loose tooth from being hit,” according to court records.
Adams is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
Adams was convicted of third or subsequent offense domestic abuse assault, assault causing bodily injury and first-degree harassment in 2021 in Dallas County District Court. He was convicted of second-offense domestic abuse assault in 2019 in Dallas County District Court. He was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault in 2018 in Dallas County District Court. He was convicted of assault causing bodily injury in 2016 in Dallas County District Court.
