Adel Police Report Sept. 5-11

September 6, 2016

  • A two-vehicle accident occurred in the 300 block of Nile Kinnick Drive S. in Adel when a vehicle driven by Travis Stonehocker, 18708 Old Highway 6, Adel, stopped while southbound on Nile Kinnick Drive S. and was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Joseph Finnegan, 26443 Country Side Dr., Adel. Damage to Stonehocker’s Ford F150 was estimated at $500, and damage to Finnegan’s Ford Ranger was estimated at $1,500. No injuries were reported. Finnegan was issued a citation for failure to stop in assured clear distance.

  • A two-vehicle accident occurred in the parking lot of 816 Greene St. in Adel when a vehicle driven by Robert Eason, 819 220th St., Scranton, was backing out of a parking spot and was struck a vehicle driven by Michaela Barrios, 1503 Walnut St., Dallas Center. Damage to Eason’s Ford F250 was estimated at $100, and damage to Barrios’ Ford Fusion was estimated at $1,500. Minor injuries were reported.

  • A three-vehicle accident occurred at Nile Kinnick Drive S. and Timberview Drive in Adel when a vehicle driven by Caleb Button, 1327 Nature Court, Van Meter, was traveling southbound on Nile Kinnick Drive S. and topping the hill and struck a vehicle driven by Jacob Ritchhart, 520 Timberview Dr., Adel, which was waiting to turn onto Timberview Drive The impact of the collision caused Ritchhart’s vehicle to cross the center line and strike a vehicle driven by Colton Barton, 339 E. Edison Ave., Des Moines. Damage Button’s Ford Focus was estimated at $1,500. Damage to Ricthhart’s Chevy Impala was estimated at $6,000. Damage to Barton’s Jeep Cherokee was estimated at $3,000. No injuries were reported. Button was issued a citation for failure to stop in assured clear distance.
  • John Phillip Tafta Jr., 34, 52 River Vista Dr., Adel, was arrested on a charge of second-degree harassment.

September 10, 2016

  • A two-vehicle accident occurred at Nile Kinnick Drive N. and Main Street in Adel when a vehicle driven by James Frazier, 121 E. Watrous Ave., #1, Des Moines, was traveling southbound on Nile Kinnick Drive S. and struck a vehicle driven by Lisa Kearney, 202 N. 16th St., Adel, as it was pulling away from the stop sign. There was no damage to the Ford Focus driven by Frazier, but damage to Kearney’s Hyundai Tucson was estimated at $100. No injuries were reported. Frazier was issued a citation for failure to stop in assured clear.
  • James Patrick Michael Frazier, 31, 121 E. Watrous Ave., #1, Des Moines, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.

September 11, 2016

  • Michael Eugene Stanley, 36, 1404 Greene St., #34, Adel, was arrested on a charge of domestic abuse assault – impeding flow of airway.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
