Jessica Lynn Bannick, 44, of Adel was arrested Sunday on charges of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, child endangerment and first-degree harassment.

An Adel woman was arrested Sunday night after allegedly scratching the arm of an Adel man and threatening to kill him.

Jessica Lynn Bannick, 44, of 1702 Prairie St., Adel, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, child endangerment and first-degree harassment.

The incident began about 9 p.m. Sunday at a residence in the 1700 block of Prairie Street, where officers of the Adel Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Bannick allegedly “grabbed the victim by the arm, causing scratch marks on his forearm,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that Bannick allegedly “displayed her fist as if she was going to swing at him,” and she told the victim that “she hoped he would die” and “threatened to kill him,” according to court records.

An 11-month-old child witnessed the alleged crimes, according to court records.

Bannick is held in the Dallas County jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing March 5 in Dallas County District Court.
