An Adel woman was arrested Monday night after allegedly assaulting her roommate.
Jennifer Jean De France, 52, of 29456 Old Portland Road, Adel, was charged with assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 7:45 p.m. Monday in the 29400 block of Old Portland Road, where officers of the Adel Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, on whom they observed “a red mark on her upper chest,” according to court records.
The officers made contact with De France, who told the officers that “she hit” the victim because the victim “would not move out,” according to court records.
De France is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug. 2 in Dallas County District Court.
