Nicole Leenza Comito, 27, of Adel was arrested Thursday on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

An Adel woman allegedly chipped her husband’s tooth by punching him in the jaw in the course of a dispute Thursday night.

Nicole Leenza Comito, 27, of 1649 Sadie Lane, Adel, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 10:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1600 block of Sadie Lane, where officers of the Adel Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

An officer made contact with the victim, who said Comito “confronted him” in the garage, where allegedly “she swung at him several times, striking him in the jaw,” and “it chipped his tooth,” according to court records.

The victim told the officer that Comito allegedly “tried to swing a glass vase at his head, and he ducked” and “then flipped her to the floor, trying to get away from her,” according to court records.

An officer made contact with Comito, who “was on the floor” and “refused to answer” the officer’s questions, only telling the officer “to get out of her house,” according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim a torn t-shirt and “a fresh scratch on his chest and forearms,” according to court records, as well as “flowers scattered about.”

Comito is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
