Adel woman allegedly strikes Adel man’s face, grabs friend’s arm

Alison Elizabeth Mallory, 43, of Adel was arrested Thursday on charges of assault and first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

An Adel woman was arrested Thursday night after allegedly striking an Adel man in the face in the course of a domestic dispute and grabbing a Unionville, Iowa, man by the arm.

Alison Elizabeth Mallory, 43, of 20511 336th Lane, Adel, was charged with assault and first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 9:15 p.m. Thursday in the 20500 block of 336th Lane, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The deputies made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Mallory allegedly “struck him in the face and head, causing swelling and redness,” according to court records.

Mallory also allegedly “grabbed onto the husband’s friend’s arm to restrain him when he was trying to leave,” according to court records.

Mallory is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 30 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
