All-conference honors, both on court and off, awarded to Jayette netters

Perry receives congratulations from Fort Dodge St. Edmond after the Jayettes won their season-opening match. Honors for athletic play and academic success were recently received by the Jayettes.

The Raccoon River Conference recently selected numerous members of the Perry volleyball team for a variety of honors.

Junior Kacy Nevitt (49 kills and 12 blocks in RRC play) was chosen for the Second Team, with senior libero player Magley Orellana (91 digs, 35-of-38 serving with one ace in RRC) named to the honorable mention list.

In addition, Orellana, Jenisis Cerna, Lanie Fish, Bella Nath, Jasmin Olmos, Peyton Tunink, Mary Ann Riesberg, Jasmine Shriver, Angela Vargas and Quinn Whiton earned All-Academic recognition. Requirements are a 3.25 or higher GPA, in grades 10-12 and the earning of a varsity letter.

The Perry team collected an IGHSAU Distinguished Academic Achievement award for a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.25.

Perry was 11-24 overall and 0-7 in conference play. John Fulton serves as head coach, with Katelyn Whelchel and Ken Hegwood assisting.
