Allendan “Allen” Inouya Madriaga, 46, of Perry passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Allen will be held April 14 from 2-5 p.m. at the McCreary Community Building, 1800 Pattee St. in Perry.

Allen was born in Hawaii on April 16, 1977, to Eufimo Madriaga and Theodora (Inouye) Madriaga.

He attended Farrington High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Stephanie, and the two spent 30 years together. They raised three beautiful children, and Allen loved spending time with them.

He worked two jobs to support and provide for his family. He was a shift manager with Tyson’s, and he also worked as a cook alongside his son at the Whistling Donkey in Woodward.

When Allen wasn’t working, he was known as an excellent deep sea fisherman, even winning several awards in competitions throughout Hawaii. Once he moved to Iowa, though, he still enjoyed fishing in the lakes and ponds near his home.

Even after his move to Perry in 2002, Allen still found ways to embrace his Hawaiian roots and would often prepare traditional Hawaiian food for his family and friends.

Everything that Allen did in his life was to support his wife and children, and he was an incredibly hard worker who would do anything to give them the best life possible.

He will be remembered as an incredible husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents; and his mother-in-law, Sheryl.

Those left to cherish Allen’s memory are his wife, Stephanie; his three children, Preston, Raven and Alexander Madriaga; his granddaughter, Avalon Madriaga; his four brothers, Brian, Edgar, Eric and Elbert; his Auntie Lori and Uncle Gary; as well as lots of nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Interment took place at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for a future designation. Online condolences may be expressed at caldwellparrish.com.
