A winter tradition will continue Saturday when the Elks Hoop Shoot free throw contest is held at the Perry Middle School gym.
All students of the Perry area schools are eligible to participate in their respective age groups. There are six separate groups, one each for boys and girls ages 8-9 years old, 10-11 years old and 12-13 years old. Contestants will be placed in a group based on their age as of April 1, 2018.
The first 50 youngsters registered will receive a complimentary basketball.
Students from area schools will shoot at 2 p.m. The gym will open at 1 p.m. Local winners will advance to the district contest in Jefferson.
Students listed as eligible for the Perry contest may attend any school in Perry, ADM, Guthrie Center, Panorama and Woodward-Granger.
