
BELLEVUE, Iowa — Law enforcement is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest in connection with a firearm fatality here Saturday, according to a statement issued Saturday night by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
The Jackson County Sheriff’s office responded to a 911 call about 7:45 a.m. Saturday at the Mississippi Ridge Kennels at 31821 Highway 52 in Bellevue. Upon arrival, deputies found Angela Prichard, 55, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
Christopher Eugene Prichard, 56, of 35393 Highway 52, Bellevue, is sought in the investigation. Prichard is a white male, standing about 5’ 7” and weighing about 145 pounds, the DCI statement said. Prichard’s clothing and the vehicle he might be traveling in are unknown.
Prichard was arrested in Bellevue April 18 on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault. The case is pending in Jackson County District Court. He was arrested on a charge of violation of a no-contact order Sept. 13 in Bellevue.
The DCI advises the public to use caution and do not approach Prichard if they see him. The public is advised to call 911, the Jackson County Dispatch Center at 319-652-3312 or the Cedar Rapids State Radio at 319-396-4414.
The investigation is jointly conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s office, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Iowa State Patrol, Bellevue Police Department, Jackson County Medical Examiner’s office, U.S. Fish and Wildlife and Jackson County Conservation.
