The National Weather Service in Des Moines predicts the morning’s non-severe thunderstorms and gusty winds will transition to snow Monday afternoon and into the night over portions of west central to northwest Iowa, leading to some travel concerns.
In addition, ice jams remain possible over portions of the Des Moines River from Fort Dodge to Stratford.
Light snow and periodic blowing snow are possible Tuesday, leading to visibility restrictions and difficult travel at times.
Along with Dallas County, Iowa counties affected by the winter weather include Emmet, Kossuth, Palo Alto, Hancock, Pocahontas, Humboldt, Wright, Franklin, Butler, Sac, Calhoun, Webster, Hamilton, Hardin, Grundy, Black Hawk, Crawford, Carroll, Greene, Boone, Story, Audubon, Guthrie, Polk, Cass, Adair, Madison, Adams, Union, Taylor and Ringgold counties.
